Do you have the courage to come face-to-face with a ghost? Are you brave enough to follow him round the streets, where ghostly Cavaliers and Roundheads still march, petulant poltergeists cause trouble and Oliver Cromwell is reputed to have sold his soul to the devil? Join our creepy ghost to find out, as he guides you around spooky locations spread throughout the central area of this Faithful City, where you can hear of ghosts, poltergeists, murders and much more.
Be warned, The Ghost Walk of Worcester is not for the faint-hearted!
The Evening begins outside The Guildhall Worcester as the Cathedral clock strikes 8 and its mournful toll echoes through the seemingly empty streets. As you look up you can see Oliver Cromwell’s head looking over you, with those glaring eyes that still look over the city. Suddenly, a hooded figure emerges from the shadows. Your guide for the evening! Here begins your journey.
As you follow the ghost through the old alleyways of this faithful city, you will come to a stop beneath the towering shadow of St. Swithuns church where you will hear the story of a beautiful wedding with an unexpected guest…
Frights mount to terror as you continue through to Friar Street for tales of poltergeists and murder. Find out why one of the pubs in Worcester is always burning hot and one of the shops always has at least one customer!
As you glide over to the Cathedral for more ghostly tales be careful not to bump into any Cavaliers or Roundheads, who still march the deserted streets.
Professional actor, Steve Quick, is superb. Not only is he truly frightening, but will have you laughing out loud. Each Ghost Walk is different and the route is always subject to change, a ghost does not stay in the same place every night! This is an ideal, leisurely way to learn more about the fascinating history, both ghostly and factual, of this Ancient city.
IT’S NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!
